Abstract
Objectives
The purpose of this study was to investigate relation of social-cultural adaptation, emotion and health related quality of life in married female immigrants.
Methods
A descriptive research design was employed. Data were collected from 133 immigrant women who lived in two provinces. Subjects were completed the following questionnaires: cultural adaptation, emotion status, and quality of life related health. The data were analyzed with frequency, correlation, ANOVA, by SPSS.
Results
The average age of subjects was 34.7 and the average age of their husband was 44.9. 40 Subjects (30.1%) were coming from Philippine and the average of staying in Korea were 7.31 years. Immigrant women's social-cultural adaptation, emotion and health related quality of life were influenced by the age of subjects and the age of their husbands, and residence period in Korea. There was a positive correlation between health related quality of life and social-cultural adaptation and between health related quality and emotion.
Conclusions
Ultimately, nursing intervention to increase health related quality of life. of immigrant women in Korea should include program to increase social-adaptation and to support emotion.
